Hinge: Mental Health Advocates of Tomorrow

LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC daters have a difficult time finding a therapist or counselor who understands their lived experiences. To help, we launched Mental Health Advocates of Tomorrow (MHAT). An industry-first $100k fund for aspiring therapists and counselors committed to supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ daters. Out of over 1,000 applications, our panel chose ten future healthy-relationship-building professionals to receive $10,000 each toward their continued education.

We tapped multidisciplinary artist and mental health champion for marginalized communities, Fariha Róisín to help us spread the word through press partnership and social media. Fariha also worked with us to select the 10 winners.

As Art Director, I focus on bringing the Hinge brand to life with distinction. For MHAT, this means guiding microsite design and development, spearheading native content creation, and leading our internal team in designing press assets.

“So many marginalized folks are wrestling with trauma, shame, lack of resources, and isolation. A lot don’t even trust therapists and I can’t blame them..These times can be really dark and overwhelming in a lot of ways and that’s why we need mental health advocates. This initiative is helping people become the light bearers, creating generational ripple effects of healing.”

— Fariha Rósín

Social Strategy + Content Creation

In order to be authentic to Fariha’s content, we guided her in taking footage that represented her essence and overall mission. Fariha’s grounding nature and softness lends itself well to naturally lit portraits of herself, videos of serene landscapes, as well as intentional quotes from her new book, Who is Wellness For?
