Hinge: Brand Photography
Our goal with rethinking Hinge’s evergreen photography, was to portray all of the feelings of a real great date and take dating from the nighttime and into the daytime.
When a date is going well it feels: silly, awkward, fun, and fast — almost as if time is passing and you wish the date would never end. This means capturing moments of authentic connection and playfulness, not deep intimacy that is seen in most dating app photography. With blurred captures, wide and close up portraits, we were able to capture the feeling of you get when you “don’t want to forget this.”
As art director, I develop a clear perspective on photography based on ever evolving social media. The rise of authenticity in UGC on channels like TikTok has quickly trickled down into Instagram and other social media platforms.
